Fruit and yogurt parfait
-
Hi again!
Lets get straight to the point. You know those fruit and yogurt thingies we’ve been getting from some sort of drive thru or coffee place? We have to stop and we have to stop now. I’ve done the math, and I’ve figured that we are spending way to much on fruit and yogurt thingies.
One fruit and yogurt parfait cost 1 to 3 dollars. Lets take 1 to make this simple.
1 a day for 30 days= $30 per month not including tax.
Fruit:
At the grocery store, 16 oz bags of frozen fruit are 2 for 6 dollars. if you get four bags of different kinds of fruit that’s 12 dollars.
Yogurt:
Again, at the store yogurt is currently on sale 10 for 5 dollars, or 20 yogurts for 10 dollars. That’s 50 cents each!
Altogether that’s 17 or 22 dollars.,depending on how many yogurts you get. Which equals out to saving 8 to 13 dollars a month. Doesn’t sound like much, but it really can add up.
But what I’m trying to say is, you can save those extra dollars, resting assured that your hand crafted parfait, is fresh, made to your liking , and it hasn’t been over-processed, or inundated with hidden artificial sweeteners. This is what I call getting more bang for your buck!
(this makes one serving)
1/4 cup of strawberries
1/4 cup of blueberries
1/4 cup of peach slices (fresh or frozen)
1/4 cup of black berries
1 cup of vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup granola (optional)
Step 1 : if your fruits are frozen quickly rinse them in cold water to get any ice off of them.
In a parfait glass, evenly layer fruit, yogurt and granola, all the way to the top. If using granola serve immediately .
