Tuesday French Fries

  • I love love love Tuesday’s

It’s the day I get all good studying in, I blog, then I relax and watch all my fave T.V shows (they all come on, on the same day, in succession!) Here’s how the night usually goes:

7:00 pm – White Collar. Love the plot and Neal Caffery

    8:00 pm – Here’s where I have a dilemma. Do I watch American Idol,(so suspenseful!) Or do I watch NCIS ? Hmmmm

9:00 pm- Glee! It’s my newest obsession. I love the characters, and they’re wicked cool renditions of songs. I’m hooked.

Now  Tuesdays are also , what I call my guilty pleasure days. That means I eat whatever I want , no guilt attached. I just indulge in all my favorite comfort foods.  I especially indulge in French fries. They’re my Numero Uno guilty pleasure. I just can get enough of their light and fluffy center and golden crispy outside. They’re so delightful!

    Ingredients:

3 large starchy potatoes (such as Russets or Yukon Gold)

    Vegetable oil (for frying)

salt and season pepper (to taste)

    Directions:

Step 1  : First scrub clean the potatoes. Peel them and place them into cold water. One by one, pat dry the potatoes, and cut them into centimeter by centimeter slices.

Place the slices into a large pot and cover with cold water, then boil until just fork tender. Drain off excess water, rinse under cold water and place onto a plate lined with paper towels. Lightly season with seasoned pepper, and set aside.

In a large frying pan or deep fryer heat about a cup and a half to 2 cups of vegetable oil to 375 F. Gently place each slice into the oil, and fry for about 7 to 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels, then serve with French fries favoritr side kick- ketchup! or what ever dipping sauce you like! Enjoy!
